On the friction/tangential restitution problem: Independent friction-restitution modeling of sphere rebound with arbitrary spin

چکیده
Most descriptions of collision events introduce coefficients friction and tangential restitution which vary significantly with the impact angle, in contrast independence normal coefficient this parameter. A redefinition based on idea that effects can be treated as being mutually independent, provides a satisfactory description experimental data using ‘constant’ independent angle. This friction-restitution modeling is developed here for rebound homogeneous sphere having an arbitrary spin rough massive plane. The reported closure permits interpretation recently literature.

Restitution in mapping models with an arbitrary amount of memory.
Restitution, the characteristic shortening of action potential duration (APD) with increased heart rate, has been studied extensively because of its purported link to the onset of fibrillation. Restitution is often represented in the form of mapping models where APD is a function of previous diastolic intervals (DIs) and/or APDs, A(n+1)=F(D(n),A(n),D(n-1),A(n-1),...), where A(n+1) is the APD fo...

Intestinal Epithelial Restitution
Closure of superficial wounds in epithelia occurs by migration of cells shouldering the wound. We describe an in vitro model of such restitution using a human intestinal epithelial cell line, T84. T84 cells were grown on novel optically transparent type 1 collagen membranes without underlying filter supports. Monolayers so grown display substantial barrier function (400-500 ohm* cm2; 1.3±0.4 nm...
متن کاملThe restitution portrait: a new method for investigating rate-dependent restitution.
INTRODUCTION Electrical restitution, relating action potential duration (APD) to diastolic interval (DI), was believed to determine the stability of heart rhythm. However, recent studies demonstrate that stability also depends on long-term APD changes caused by memory. This study presents a new method for investigation of rate- and memory-dependent aspects of restitution and for assessment of m...
